This private tour is suited to adventurous lovers of the outdoors who wish to complete their desert experience in a relaxed journey while spending 2 nights in the Sahara desert to learn about the local culture of the Berber in the Mountain ranges of Southern Morocco with the Desert. This is a Desert Inclusive Tour and can be customized should you wish to end your trip in Marrakech, Errachidia or Fes city. It is ideally suited if you wish to combine your own planned visit to Morocco with an organised desert tour departing from Marrakech and returning to your accommodation Marrakech or dropping off at Errachidia Airport or accommodation in Fes

EXPAND COLLAPSEOur team shall pick up from your hotel/riad at 9:00am and travel towards the High Atlas Mountains. Cross the mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco Tizi n Tichka 2260m (7414 feet) offering one kind of scenery of mountains, valleys and Berber villages. Visit the extraordinary sight of the Atlas Mountains Kasbah Telouet. The crumbling Kasbah belonged to the powerful Glaoui tribe remembered as the “vulture” sultan and his son who lived there until the 1950’s.
Continuing our journey, traversing the Ounilla Valley to reach the Ait Ben Haddou. This route offers unparalleled views of green valleys, rivers, and remarkable colored slopes and hillsides. Around midday we will reach the amazing UNESCO-protected 16th-century sight of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Take a walk across the river to this Kasbah. Stroll the winding streets to the Kasbah to the upper level for awe-inspiring views. This kasbah was a home for several famous movies, including Game Of Thrones, Laurance of Arabia, Gladiator.
After lunch in a restaurant in the kasbah or nearby, we continue our path further to Ouarzazate. Here you’ll have the option to visit the Atlas Studio, one of largest studios in Africa and where some movies were filmed such as game of thrones and much more. By the late afternoon, you’ll visit Kasbah Taourirt then we will take you to your hotel in Ouarzazate for a peaceful night.

EXPAND COLLAPSEAfter breakfast we leave Ouarzazate city, referred to as ‘’the hollywood of Africa’’, taking the route of the Thousand Kasbahs towards the Skoura Oasis. Take a lovely off-road ride in the oasis passing inhabited kasbahs of the local people.
Visit the Kasbah Amridil in the heart of Skoura oasis, featured in many Moroccan brochures. Your guide takes you to the Rose Valley (Kella Mgouna) known for its production of Moroccan roses and its variety of beauty products. Your journey continues via Bout Gharar, where you’ll have a chance to meet the Berber nomad families who are still living in the caves, then pass the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills, a bizarre rock creation resembling monkey feet. End your day at Dades Gorge, a deep gorge of red and mauve rock. If time permits, you’ll have the option for a hike in the rack formation known as monkey paws. Overnight at a hotel overlooking the Valley.

EXPAND COLLAPSEAfter a delicious breakfast at your hotel, we will leave Dades valley and set off on an amazing journey that spans roughly 4 hours. First, we will arrive in the mesmerizing Todra Valley, known for the lush Todra Palmeraie Gorge. Continue along the valley to reach the dramatic Gorges of Todra while making frequent stops for photos, a haven for rock climbers and nature lovers. Your driver/guide will suggest taking a leisurely walk beneath the 300-meter cliffs. Every corner will leave you in awe. If time permits and based on your interests, you will visit a women weaving Berber carpets association.
After a traditional lunch, the drive continues to Merzouga desert via some Berber villages and a Palmeraie oasis of Tafilalt. An optional stop will be made in a Berber family shop, where you will dress traditionally and get a henna tattoo for photography. Free of charge, but possible to get the best scarf for your desert experience to protect you from the sand and sunburn.
Arrive at Merzouga desert in the late afternoon, where you will enjoy a peaceful camel ride over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, led by an experienced camel guide to explore and enjoy the sand sea of Erg Chebbi. The camel guide will make sure to stop in a high dune to watch what may be the best sunset of your lifetime. After the twilight, you’ll get to your featured camp, where you’ll spend your dreamy night. Your luxury Berber tent is equipped with flush toilets and hot showers. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by live local music around a bonfire.

EXPAND COLLAPSEAfter a relaxed breakfast at your camp, we will embark on a 4WD journey to explore the hidden gems of the Sahara. Our adventure includes visiting nomadic Berber families, the village of Khamlia, lush oases, seasonal lakes, and the abandoned mines of Miffis.
First, we will visit a Berber nomadic family at their traditional tent in the heart of the desert. Here, you will learn about their unique lifestyle in this vast landscape while sharing a traditional cup of Moroccan mint tea. We then continue to the historic Miffis mines, where you can still find locals working in the ancient kohl (mascara) and mineral stone mines.
Later, head to Khamlia village, famous for the Gnaoua people, whose ancestors originated from sub-Saharan countries such as Sudan, Mali, and Niger. Having beautifully integrated into Berber culture, they are renowned for their soulful music and unique way of life. Nearby, we will enjoy a specialty of the region—Berber Pizza—for lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, we continue to Dayet Srji (Merzouga Lake). This seasonal lake attracts diverse birdlife, including migratory flamingos. We will then visit a nearby oasis to see the local community gardens, where we’ll take a gentle walk to learn about the traditional desert irrigation and plantations.
To conclude the day, we will transfer you to your hotel at the edge of the dunes for a relaxing evening, or back to your luxury camp if you prefer to spend a second night under the stars.

EXPAND COLLAPSEAfter breakfast at your luxury camp, you will have the option to get back to the village of Merzouga either by camels or a 4WD vehicle to meet your driver/guide. Then, you have the option to travel back to Marrakech or transfer you to Moulay Ali Cherif Airport in Errachidia via Ziz Valley, or Travel north towards the spiritual city of Fes. On our journey to Fes, we’ll pass by Ziz Valley, Cedar Forest and Ifrane city in the Mid Atlas Mountains. In the Cedar Forest you may get a chance to witness the Barbary apes in their natural habitat before taking a leisure walk in the National Park of Ifrane referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco.
