After settling at your riad, kick off on a private guided walking tour to explore the vibrant and enchanting city of Marrakech, where history, culture, and tradition blend seamlessly with modernity.
Walk through the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you step into this bustling hub, the air is filled with the scents of spices and grilled meats at night, while the sounds of snake charmers, storytellers, and musicians create a symphony of life.
From there, we’ll make our way through the narrow, winding streets of Marrakech Medina, a maze of alleys lined with bustling souks. Visit the Bahia Palace, an architectural marvel built in the late 19th century. The palace, with its lush gardens, intricate tilework, and ornate rooms, reflects the grandeur of Moroccan royalty.
Afterward, we’ll visit Madrasa Ben Youssef, the most impressive and historically significant landmark in Morocco, reflecting the splendor of Islamic architecture and the educational heritage of the country.
In the afternoon, if time permits, we will take you to visit the Majorelle Garden, a stunning botanical oasis, renowned for its vibrant colors, exotic plant collection, and tranquil ambiance. Stop by the Koutoubia Mosque, the most iconic building in the city. While non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the mosque, its exterior offers a beautiful view of Moroccan architecture, featuring stunning Arab-Andalusian designs.
Later, our guide will escort you back to the peaceful oasis of your Riad. The soothing sound of a fountain, soft cushions, intricate tilework, and a calming ambiance invite you to relax and unwind after a lovely exploration day in the medina.

EXPAND COLLAPSEBreakfast at your hotel, travel then embark on a spectacular journey as you cross the High Atlas Mountains toward the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
After about an hour, we will reach traditional Berber villages nestled into the mountainside. Here, we will stop to learn about local Berber life and enjoy the spectacular views along the winding roads of the Tichka Pass, which stands at 2,260 meters (7,414 feet). You will also have the chance to visit a local women’s cooperative to see how Argan oil is produced for both food and cosmetics.
By midday, we will arrive at the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. You will explore both the interior and exterior of this historic Kasbah, which was built in the 11th century as a key stop for trading caravans. Today, it is a famous filming location for movies and shows like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Indiana Jones.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with a view of the Kasbah or in nearby Ouarzazate. Afterward, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa" because of its massive film studios. You may choose to visit Atlas Studios to see where many famous scenes were filmed.
Next, we travel along the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" toward Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we will stop in the Rose Valley in Kalaat M’gouna, home to the famous Rose Festival held every May. You can visit a women’s rose cooperative to learn about traditional distillation techniques and browse local rose products.
Eventually, you’ll check into your cozy hotel overlooking the Dades valley. Here you’ll take your time to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, followed by a feast and maybe some more live music.

EXPAND COLLAPSEAfter a delicious breakfast at your hotel, we will leave Dades valley and set off on an amazing journey that spans roughly 4 hours. First, we will arrive in the mesmerizing Todra Valley, known for the lush Todra Palmeraie Gorge. Continue along the valley to reach the dramatic Gorges of Todra while making frequent stops for photos, a haven for rock climbers and nature lovers. Your driver/guide will suggest taking a leisurely walk beneath the 300-meter cliffs. Every corner will leave you in awe. If time permits and based on your interests, you will visit a women weaving Berber carpets association.
After a traditional lunch, the drive continues to Merzouga desert via some Berber villages and a Palmeraie oasis of Tafilalt. An optional stop will be made in a Berber family shop, where you will dress traditionally and get a henna tattoo for photography. Free of charge, but possible to get the best scarf for your desert experience to protect you from the sand and sunburn.
Upon arrival in Merzouga desert and as the sun begins to set, you’ll leave the vehicle behind and embark on a 1 hour camel ride into your featured camp. Riding atop your camel, you’ll traverse the vast golden dunes, feeling the tranquility of the Sahara all around you. The evening light casts a warm glow on the dunes, creating an unforgettable moment of serenity. After your phone’s gallery is full with some sunset photos, you arrive at a traditional desert camp nestled in the heart of the dunes. Here, you'll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by some traditional songs around an open fire played by locals under the star-filled sky.

EXPAND COLLAPSEToday, rise early to watch a beautiful, stunning sunrise where you will see the sunshine cover the small golden sand dunes of Merzouga and the rocky, barren Sahara Desert. After your breakfast at the camp, you will trek back by camel, or if you feel you’ve had enough of riding the camels, you have the option for a 4WD vehicle drive back from the camp.
You will then head north towards the spiritual city of Fes, through tranquil oases, vast Berber towns, and the beautiful Atlas Mountains. First stop will be in Ziz Valley,
The drive continues through the beautiful landscape of the middle Atlas Mountains, including a stop at the cedar forest in Michlifen to watch Barbary apes in their natural habits, as you will pass many traditional Berber villages where you can interact with local inhabitants, through this journey, you will be amazed by the stunning contrast during the drive.
Next stop will be at the town of Ifrane, referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” as it has alpine-style architecture and nearby slopes and forests. After a leisure walk in the National Park of Ifrane, we continue to Fes via the last green hills of the Mid Atlas Mountains. Eventually, we reach our authentic accommodation in Fes medina, providing the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, so you can unwind after a day of exploring and recharge for the adventure that lies ahead.

First visit the ancient well preserved Royal Palace, featuring stunning intricately designed gates, with the most famous being the golden gate of the palace. Also considered a magnificent example of Moroccan architecture in Fes.
Continuing our exploration, we’ll escort you through the narrow alleyways of a UNESCO World Heritage Medina. As you step into the medina, the sights, sounds, and smells immediately envelop you. Stop at Chouara Tannery, one of the oldest in the world that’s still alive for now. Learn about the ancient process of leather tanning, passed down through generations.
After lunch, we will head to the Attarine Madrasa and the majestic Al-Qarawiyyin University,often considered the oldest continuously operating university in the world. From there, you’ll have a pick up choice by your driver or walk back to your hotel through the alleyways surrounded by local shops.

Take a moment to admire its priceless mosaics, lavish tiles, and intricate inscriptions. Continue your exploration at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a site of immense historical and architectural significance. Before leaving the city, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shores of Sahrij Souani, where you can appreciate the scale of the 17th-century royal granaries and stables.
After a local lunch, drive through the rolling hills to the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, which offers a striking view of the valley. From there, it is a short trip to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through this archaeological marvel to see the well-preserved Triumphal Arch of Caracalla and the stunning mosaics that still decorate the floors of elite Roman mansions. The colorful tiles depicting scenes from Roman mythology offer a unique glimpse into the country's ancient past.
Leaving the plains behind, the landscape begins to transform into the lush, rugged scenery of the Rif Mountains. Eventually, we reach the famous "Blue Pearl," Chefchaouen. After a relaxing night and breakfast, you can walk through the blue-washed alleys and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. If you love photography, we recommend bringing your camera to take photos of the famous blue doors and the charming houses in the Medina.
You can have lunch whenever you are ready. Afterward, we will begin our final trip toward Tangier. This city is famous for its European style and is known as the "Gateway to Africa." Once we arrive, your driver will drop you off at any location you choose.
Please note that this tour can also end in other cities like Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, or Fes. If you would like to stay in Chefchaouen for more days, we can also end the tour right there.
